Dump truck rolls down 12-metre hill, injuring driver
Ottawa fire’s ropes team was called to the west end after a dump truck moving earth rolled down an embankment.
Crews were called around 8:34 a.m. on Tuesday to the 4000 block of March Road in Carp by Ottawa paramedics. Officials said that the driver was injured after the truck rolled down a 12-metre hill.
The driver was not able to climb back up the hill. Fire crews made their way down the steep embankment and when they reached the driver began assessing them.
The rope team constructed a twin-tension, steep-angle system allowing three rescuers to descend the muddy hill.
A basket was used to secure the patient before safely bring them to groundlevel.
Paramedics assessed the driver by 9:48 a.m.
