Police charge 46-year-old in Bells Corners criminal harassment case

Ottawa police are looking for more victims after the arrest of a 46-year-old man in a harassment case.
According to officials, since July, a series of posters targeting a female victim were posted throughout a Bells Corners neighbourhood, near Moodie Drive and Tyrell Place. Following the report, police’s west criminal investigations section launched an investigation.
On Dec. 4, a search warrant was executed, a press release notes.
As a result, John Violette, of Ottawa, is facing charges of:
- Criminal harassment by repeated communication
- Criminal harassment by threatening conduct
Police believe there are more victims and possible witnesses and are asking anyone with information to contact officers at 613-236-1222 ext. 2666.
