Brampton woman charged in Bayshore thefts

A Brampton woman faces theft charges after she was arrested by Ottawa police in connection with a theft from a store in the Bayshore Shopping Centre.

Police were called Jan. 20 for a report of a theft in progress at the mall.

The suspect fled in a vehicle that was later located near the 1200 block of Carling Avenue.

Search warrants were issued on the vehicle and a location where police determined the suspect was staying.

Police said in a release that “a large quantity of stolen merchandise was recovered.”

The merchandise was not described.

The suspect, 49, faces two counts of theft under $5,000.

Police said the charges also cover “other high-value thefts reported in August 2025.”

The investigation continues and anyone with information on the thefts was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2666.
