One dead in Highway 7 collision Friday

First responders on scene of fatal head-on crash between pickup and transport truck on Highway 7 near Kaladar.

One person is dead following a head-on crash between a transport truck and a pickup truck late Friday night on Highway 7 near Kaladar.

Ontario Provincial Police said the crash occurred during heavy snowfall conditions shortly after 10 p.m.

The driver of the pickup, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

Highway 7 was closed for several hours between highways 38 and 41. The scene was declared clear shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday.

Kaladar is about 160 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or has information “or potentially relevant dashcam video,” should contact the Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E260071268.
