A 46-year-old Ottawa man is facing criminal harassment charges following a months-long investigation by the Ottawa Police Service.

Since July, a series of posters targeting a female victim had been posted throughout a neighbourhood near Moodie Drive and Tyrell Place in Bells Corners, police said in a news release Monday.

An investigation was launched by the West Criminal Investigations Section after the victim made a report to police, and on Dec. 4 a search warrant was executed, with John Violette arrested and charged with criminal harassment by repeated communication and criminal harassment by threatening conduct.

Police are looking for witnesses to come forward and believe there could be additional victims. Anyone with information was asked to contact the West Criminal Investigations Section at 613-236-1222, extension 2666. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca .
